About Us

For nearly 70 years, Troop 26 has proudly served the Avery Creek and Arden communities, now joined by Troop 4026, offering young women the same enriching opportunities in Scouting since 2019. Supported by dedicated local families and our charter partner, the Avery Creek Community Center, we are honored to call Camp Stephens—also known as “Long-Pine Camp”—our home base.

As proud members of the Looking Glass District within the Daniel Boone Council, we are committed to fostering adventure, personal growth, and a strong sense of community for every Scout. Youth are eligible to join Scouts BSA if they meet one of these criteria:

    • Completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old,
    • Earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, or
    • Are 11 years old but have not yet reached 18.

Our Mission

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Scout Oath

“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”

Scout's Motto

“BE PREPARED”

The Value of Scouting

Discovery is at the heart of Scouting. Whether it’s a campout, derby car race, or hike on the trail, we believe every adventure helps us uncover a little more about ourselves. We build the foundations for humility and compassion—strengthening character through actions—to prepare youth for a lifetime of leadership.
